Camera Use & Interview Proctoring

Why your camera is on

  • During an interview you may be asked to keep your webcam on, so the session feels like a real, face-to-face interview
  • It also keeps the interview fair — a light proctoring check that discourages using a phone, book, or other outside help during the test
  • The camera is only active during the interview itself, never before or after

What we DO NOT do

  • We do NOT record, photograph, or save any video or image of you
  • No snapshot or frame from your camera is ever uploaded to our servers or stored anywhere
  • We do not use your camera for facial recognition, identity profiling, or any purpose beyond in-session proctoring
  • Nothing from your camera is shared with recruiters or any third party

How the proctoring check works

  • The video is analysed live, on your own device, inside your browser
  • The check only looks for prohibited objects (such as a phone or a book) in the frame — it does not identify you
  • Each frame is processed for a fraction of a second and then immediately discarded from memory
  • Only the RESULT of the check (for example, 'a phone was detected') is used during the session — never the image itself

  • Your browser asks for your permission before the camera turns on
  • You can decline or revoke camera access at any time from your browser settings
  • A proctored interview needs the camera on; if you would rather not enable it, you can choose a non-proctored practice session instead
